My name is Jo Anna Rodriguez and I am from Texas. In 2004, I had a life-changing event when I chose to leave an abusive and controlling relationship. I survived an aggravated kidnapping and aggravated sexual assault, at the hands of my then estranged husband, which became a high profile case in the small town I lived in at the time. Since then, I have been on a long personal journey of healing and learning to finally love myself. Taking all of the collateral damage that comes with such a profound event has been a challenge and at times, overwhelming for me. I have become an Ambassador, Speaker, and Author against domestic violence, child sexual abuse, and human trafficking. My passion and purpose are to help inspire others that rising up from that broken place is the best gift you can give yourself. It’s been a long road, but I’m here to tell you that there is life, strength, hope, love, and beauty after.
